Project Budget: 33, 08,534.00
Targeted Community/People: 3-5 years old Rohingya children.
Project Intro:
Cox's Bazar is a district in the south-eastern part of Bangladesh. Introduction Cox´s Bazar is the most southern district of Bangladesh bordering Myanmar. The Rohingya refugees began fleeing into this area in large numbers since August 2017 following a brutal military campaign against Rohinga community in Rakhine state. As a result, the Rohingya refugee camp in Cox's Bazar is the largest camp of holding over 1.1000,000 refugees around the world now.
The local community hosting the refugees is over stretched and its education systems disrupted. Limited spaces, resources and qualified teachers prevent a large number of Rohingya children from accessing quality education. Now it is most important to start Rohingya children's Early Childhood Development with their mother language following Myanmar Curriculum. PHALS intended education support project with Community Based Learning Facilities in Camp -4 Ext in Razapalong union of Ukhia Upazila with the technical support of BRAC and funded by Pooled Fund.
Under the project, 168 students (Girl 88 and 80 Boys) aged 3-5 years enrolled with quality education. 10 teachers (7 Rohingya and 3 Host) were engaged with who all were female.
